Guidelines for Authors The African Journal of Religion, Culture and Society (AJRCS) welcomes original and scholarly articles, book reviews, and research notes in the fields of religion, culture, and society. Manuscripts submitted must be original, not under review elsewhere, and demonstrate scholarly rigor. 1. Scope of the Journal The journal publishes interdisciplinary research addressing: - Religious studies and practices in Africa and beyond - Cultural interactions and social transformations - Ethics, interfaith dialogue, and peace studies - Comparative religion and global religious trends 2. Manuscript Preparation - Language: Manuscripts should be written in clear English. - Length: Articles should be 5,000–8,000 words (including references). Book reviews should be 1,000–1,500 words. - Abstract: Provide an abstract of 150–200 words, followed by 4–6 keywords. - Format: Submit manuscripts in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx), 12-point Times New Roman, double-spaced, with 1-inch (2.54 cm) margins. - Headings: Use a consistent heading hierarchy. 3. Citation Styles AJRCS accepts submissions in either APA (7th edition) or MLA (9th edition). Authors must clearly indicate which style they are using and apply it consistently throughout the manuscript. A. APA Style (7th edition) In-text citation examples: - Single author: (Okafor, 2022) - Two authors: (Adeyemi & Musa, 2023) - Direct quotation with page: (Okafor, 2022, p. 45) Reference list examples: Book: Okafor, C. Ethical Considerations - Authors must ensure originality and avoid plagiarism. - Obtain appropriate permissions for copyrighted materials. - Research involving human subjects must comply with ethical standards and informed consent guidelines.
Review Process All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review. Authors may be asked to revise their work before final acceptance.
